Today's question is: When you read a book that you just can't get into, do you stick it out and keep reading or move to your next title?
When it's so uninteresting to me that I feel like I would rather do other things than read, then I will decide to put it down and move on to something else. I might try a bit to see if the book improves but if I'm not feeling it, I'm not feeling it. I will usually go back to the book later because I know my moods change with what I like reading and feel for at the time. I rarely ever not finish a book, but it's happened before.

ReplyDeleteI'm rather sad to say that there are too many books that I haven't finished reading. I'd like to be able to pride myself on always finishing a book, on giving it my full attention and giving it a chance, but in practice, really, some books just can't hold my attention that long. It isn't that they're bad books, either. Sometimes they're good books, but they're just not for me, and so I can't always justify slogging through what I consider boring even if it's well-written.

I agree on the moods thing. I had been trying for about a month to get through Daughter of the Blood by Anne Bishop and just could not do it. Finally I got halfway through and ended up loving it, and gobbled up the next two books lol. Silly books!
