Hour 1
Where are you reading from today?
I'm reading from Montreal, Quebec! From my little apartment!
3 facts about me …
Hmm, I have a white cat named Roxie, I'm a student in art history and I love to watch anime!
How many books do you have in your TBR pile for the next 24 hours?
I have 3 for now but hopefully I can go beyond that!
Do you have any goals for the read-a-thon (i.e. number of books, number of pages, number of hours, or number of comments on blogs)?
One of my goals is to get a lot of reading done at night, since that's not usually when I read. I also want to finish 4 books today!
If you’re a veteran read-a-thoner, any advice for people doing this for the first time?
This is my first readathon so I'll have to answer this next year!

Mini Challenges
Back-in-the-Day Children’s Book Mini-Challenge
Six Word Celebration
-My entry: GREAT EXCUSE TO READ ALL DAY!
Show Me The Books
-My Entry: Click here to see my photo!
Armchair Traveling
-My Entry: Recently I've been traveling all through space to different worlds in Grimspace. I guess that's pretty extreme! More Earthly, though, is one of my favorite places that I've been to in a book and that's medieval Whales in Sharon Kay Penman's Here Be Dragons.
Love to Hate
-My Entry: A character I love to hate would be the Lord Ruler from Mistborn! He's a great villain; there's a lot to his story!
Shake Your Pom-Poms
-My Entry: I said BRR! It's cold in here, there must be some READERS in the atmosphere! I said BRR! It's cold in here, there must be some READERS in the atmosphere! I said O-E-O-E-O! Read them books!
Yay for another 8am reader! East Coasters! Woo! :) Good luck!
ReplyDeleteGood luck!
ReplyDeleteHave lots of fun on your first readathon!! Remember to have fun, not to stress and visit lots of other blogs!
ReplyDeleteTeam Simile :)
(Non)traditional Buddhist readathon blessing:
ReplyDeleteJust as the books fill the shelves,
Pile together on the floor and stack up on the table
So may the joy of the readathon
Flow forth to brighten your day and lift your spirit.
Books already read, books in progress and books yet to be read.
By the power of every word on the page
May your book be delightful,
As scary as Lovecraft’s Cthulhu
Or as sweet as a box of See’s candy.
Let the power of the images evoked by words
Keep you stay awake long through the night
May no obstacle impede
Your day filled with books.
For all of those who are reading today
Who follow in the path of Dewey
May your day be filled with the four blessings
Of fabulous books, tasty snacks, comfy chairs and joy.
Has it been 8 hours already? Seems so weird. Like time is going faster than I think it is!
ReplyDeleteI'm cheering for you!
ReplyDeleteI would love to spend time traipsing around Wales in the footsteps of Sharon Kay Penman's characters!
